The Sovereign General Insurance Company is looking for a dynamic individual to join our Commercial Automobile Underwriting Team in Montreal. The successful candidate will be adept at analyzing risks and providing creative solutions to brokers, the ability to influence and inspire others through their enthusiasm and provide exceptional customer service to our broker force.
How you will create impact:
- Work on quotes, renewals and endorsements, in accordance with our underwriting philosophy, rates, loss ratio targets and service standards within its delegated underwriting authority.
- To provide unparalleled service and support to our broker partners by meeting our service times and offering them a high level of collaboration.
- Perform adequate documentation of files to support decisions made.
- Represent and promote Sovereign to our network of brokers through face-to-face meetings aimed at creating new business opportunities.
- Develop a team-based approach that will achieve service and business objectives, including written premiums and profitability objectives.
To join our team:
- You have at least 1 year of experience in corporate car underwriting. More in-depth experience, including 3 years or more in this field, is considered an asset. We also consider applications from individuals with at least 3 years of experience as a commercial insurance agent or broker.
- Holding or in the process of obtaining the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation is a strong asset.
- Proficiency in both English and French is essential to the main duties in this role, including servicing and communicating primarily with majority anglophone and francophone clients, groups, and teams. The essential non-French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.

Salary information
Expected salary range $60,574 to $100,956
Salary placement
The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.
Incentive/Variable pay
Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation tied to individual and/or business performance, or other business metrics.
