We are seeking an IT Finance Analyst to join our Information Technology team in any US office or remotely.
Job Summary:
The IT Financial Analyst is responsible for providing financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting support to the IT department. This role involves analyzing IT costs, developing financial models, and assisting in financial planning processes to ensure the efficient allocation of resources and alignment with the organization’s strategic objectives.
Main areas of responsibility:
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze IT expenditures and prepare detailed financial reports for management.
- Monitor actual spending against budget and forecast, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support IT cost management and decision-making.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist the IT Operations & Finance Analyst with the annual IT budget preparation
- Collaborate with IT and finance teams to develop annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Assist in the preparation of budget presentations and provide insights on budgetary constraints and opportunities.
- Work closely with the Project Management team and other leads to update forecasts monthly
- Cost Management and Finance Coordination:
- Track IT capital and operational expenditures, ensuring compliance with financial policies.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements within the IT department.
- Cross-train with the current IT Analyst as backup to ensure correct coding and approval of all IT invoices and all IT assets.
- Cross-train with the current IT Analyst as backup to provide monthly IT related close items (accruals, reconciliations, prepaid schedules) to the Financial Accounting department
- Project Support:
- Provide financial support for IT projects, including cost-benefit analysis, ROI calculations, and tracking project expenses.
- Partner with project managers to ensure projects are delivered within budget and financial objectives are met.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in an IT or technology environment.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel including pivot tables and formulas, SAP, Tableau).
- Detail oriented
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with cost management and technology infrastructure investments.
- Familiarity with financial software and ERP systems (SAP preferred).
- Professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, or CFM are a plus.
