General Ledger Accounting Manager
Role overview
The GL Accounting Manager will oversee and review all accounting and reporting aspects of Dual North America and its subsidiaries. This person will manage the team responsible for recording financial transactions, ensuring accuracy of accounting records, perform account reconciliations for internal and external reporting, coordinate month-end close duties and processes, and ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS).
Role responsibilities
Manage a team of accountants, assigning tasks and setting performance goals
Execute and monitor monthly and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely, complete and accurate financial reporting
Provide supplemental schedules for monthly and quarterly financial reporting
Perform and/or review monthly bank and other balance sheet reconciliations, investigate any discrepancies, and resolve issues
Analyze monthly financials to identify and explain any variances
Implement and maintain internal controls and evidence procedures
Complete year-end tax and audit requests
Initiate and/or approve bank transfers and other settlements
Manage intercompany transactions and reconcile balances as necessary
Assist in creating and updating documented system of accounting policies, procedures, and process documents
Actively identify areas for process improvement within the general ledger function
Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations as needed.
Complete and/or review recurring journal entries
Assist with projects as needed within Accounting/Finance Department
Key requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, CPA track preferred
Proven experience (5+ years) in an accounting role, prior management experience desired
Accounting experience in SOX enviornment a plus
Self-motivated and proactive
Leader who can build operational efficiency and successfully implement process improvement
Effective interpersonal and communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and accuracy
Proven ability to meet tight deadlines
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Macros)
Ability and willingness to learn new software / systems
