Position Summary
The Freberg CSR is responsible for administrative functions supporting a production underwriter team. Under limited supervision, the CSR is responsible for new and renewal business activities including endorsement processing, policy production and broker servicing. This position requires the ability to work independently, exercise judgment and demonstrate initiative to timely and accurately complete related tasks. The candidate may also serve as a subject matter expert and trainer.
What will your job entail?
Job Responsibilities:
• Partner with the underwriters to bind and issue new and renewal, commercial insurance policies, process endorsements and maintain broker relationships.
• Quality control of underwriting documents and timely completion of policy and endorsement issuance.
• Manage and maintain a structured, organized diary system that ensures all necessary information is received within established timelines.
• Timely produce notices of cancellation, non-renewal notices, reinstatements and renewal solicitation notices.
• Provide efficient and courteous service to all internal and external customers, including underwriters and brokers.
• Review policies for accuracy, quality and regulatory standards.
• Communicate effectively with management, underwriters and brokers to secure information needed to accurately process business.
• Assist the operations director with management responsibilities, including training, workflow and mentoring. Participate in or handle special projects, as assigned.
• Performs office administrative duties and handles calls for the department programs.
• Works with accounting to resolve invoicing discrepancies.
Work Experience:
• Minimum 2 + years of experience as an underwriting assistant/service manager in commercial insurance and preferably with environmental or casualty insurance lines.
• Proven ability to work in a production-based environment where service and quality are top priorities.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and core business system applications including Salesforce & Policy Decisions
• Team player with the ability to independently prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must.
• Strong knowledge of the Property & Casualty insurance industry, insurance terminology and the commercial insurance policy lifecycle.
• Property and casualty and MGA/MGU experience highly preferred.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree required; Business Administration, Business Operations and Sales preferred. Any other related discipline or commensurate work experience considered.
Licenses & Certifications:
• Insurance designations (AINS, CISR, CIC or similar) a plus

The target hourly rate range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00 per hour.
The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
