Job Description
Responsible for overseeing Project Management for the Product area of Chubb's Personal Risk Services organization.
This position supports the overall prioritization and implementation of the PRS Product portfolio, managing a PMO team that plans and oversees standard rate/rule/form changes as well as high visibility special projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate project teams, fostering collaboration and effective communication
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, assist with management reporting, track project progress, identify potential issues, and take corrective actions to keep projects on task
- Demonstrate knowledge of the key concepts and subject matter pertinent to the project(s) being managed. Areas are likely to include predictive modeling, pricing, and rating for personal lines insurance, regulatory filing concepts, agency management, business change management (communication, training, etc.), and IT project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with the various business and IT areas to ensure proper coordination of working sessions and teams; develop strong working relationships which enable the early identification of issues and collaborative solutions
- Focuses on training and leadership development of staff members, with the goal of elevating overall team performance, fostering staff advancement, retention, and succession
- Determine the order of and manage dependencies across project streams, prepare and utilize risk assessments and mitigation plans
- Prepare management/milestone summaries, status reports, and presentations to Division Leadership
- Partner with the appropriate areas and outside vendors to ensure that the individual components of the project plan fit into a cohesive whole
- Provide recommendations by reviewing issue logs and action plans, and scheduling and resourcing as appropriate
Qualifications
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and build virtual relationships with team members and stakeholders in office locations across the country
- Ability to grasp and work with technical subject matter and experts specific to personal insurance predictive modeling, rating, pricing, operations, and regulations.
- Ability to influence, collaborate and manage relationships effectively with entry level to Senior management employees
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills to solve complex problems efficiently and make informed decisions under pressure.
- Proven ability to lead initiatives for process improvement by identifying inefficiencies and implementing effective changes to enhance operational performance and drive organizational success.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, multi-tasking, and organizational skills
- Broad understanding of business vision, strategy and tactical objectives while drawing upon this understanding to help guide the project team with decision making when needed
- Ability to maintain a view of the bigger picture (e.g., cross project dependencies/impacts) while dealing with day-to-day task level activities
- Capability to develop and present succinct status summaries and reports for various stakeholders
- Proven ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
- Prior people management preferred
- Microsoft Excel and Power Point skills a must, Project a plus
Education And Experience
- Minimum of 7 years of project management experience in Personal Insurance and/or Product Management
