Reporting to the Data Governance Tooling and Reporting Manager, this role will be a key member of the EDO, accountable for aiding in the delivery and support of our Data governance platform and capabilities along with roadmap execution, and adoption. The successful candidate is an individual contributor and also a self-starter. The Data Specialist is empowered to work independently with teams and projects across the organization, supporting the goal to advance Data Governance platform adoption, capabilities and Data Governance Maturity.
What can you expect in this role?
- Support on-boarding of data assets and users, allocation of roles and responsibilities, configure workflows, engage vendor for support
- Define, optimize, and implement Collibra workflows using BPMN 2.0 (Business Process Model and Notation 2.0) for consistent modeling using industry standards
- Daily operational support of the Collibra application including user access management, asset configuration and product updates
- Identifies requirements and use cases for the Data governance tools that will support the governance & technology strategy and roadmap; implement those requirements within the platform
- Work with stakeholder to continuously improve Data Governance technologies, Share regular updates with stakeholders regarding proposed solutions, timelines, progress, and issues
- Develop and maintain education/communication tools and documents that help drive adoption and education around Data Governance technologies
What do you bring to the role?
- 2-3 years of experience in Data Governance, Metadata Management, Business Intelligence, or Data Analysis in the insurance / financial services industry; Experience with Data Lineage, Data Cataloging, and/or Data Policy implementation
- University degree required; Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, MIS, Computer Science, or other related disciplines
- 3-4 years of experience with Collibra or other data governance and data catalog solutions
- Experience and strong proficiency with workflow development in Collibra
- 3-4 years of experience capturing and documenting complex business and functional requirements; Knowledge and understanding of Data Governance challenges and best practices for Metadata, Data Quality, and Data Stewardship
- Ability to identify problems/opportunities, analyze root cause, and present recommendations
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify, quantify, and effectively raise business risks associated within our Data governance tools
- Experience working with multiple teams to drive alignment and results
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, attention to detail, sense of urgency, and commitment to deadlines
- Experience in managing products and building relationships with vendors
