Individual contributor responsible for management of complex flow referral underwriting from various Managing General Underwriting partners supporting CNA’s countrywide Program Lawyers book of business. Under Program Managers’ direction, this role will work within broad limits of authority on assignments requiring a high degree of technical underwriting acumen. Familiarity with Errors & Omission coverages and underwriting, Lawyers Professional Liability coverages, and desk underwriting experience preferred. This role will also require strong relationship management skills and the ability to build and foster strong collaboration with multiple distribution partners.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
1. Advanced technical expertise, underwriting skill and high level of knowledge of insurance and underwriting principles, practices and procedures.
2. Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of CNA's internal and external business partners.
3. Advanced analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
4. Ability to deal with ambiguous situations and issues.
5. Creativity in resolving unique and challenging business problems.
6. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.
7. Demonstrated leadership skills.
Education and Experience
1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Professional designations preferred (J.D., RPLU, CPCU).
2. Typically a minimum eight years’ experience in either lawyers professional liability insurance, underwriting, legal or E&O.

In District of Columbia,California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York and Washington, the national base pay range for this job level is $72,000 to $141,000 annually. Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
