The Senior HR Manager is responsible for providing timely, accurate and effective information, support and administration of HR functions. The Senior HR Manager will work with the Human Resources team to provide excellent service to our employees throughout the firm. The Senior HR Manager plays an active role in partnering with senior-level employees and HR projects that are aligned to key priorities, identified by the HR Business Partner (HRBP).
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Essential job functions include, but are not limited to:
- Performance Management and Employee Relations
- Oversee performance management on behalf of HRBP – including reviewing record of counseling documents and performance improvement plans. Responsible for escalating complex situations to HRBP
- Conduct thorough and objective investigations to ensure consistency in resolving employee relations issues
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of all ongoing performance management cases for HRG and HRBP reference at any time
- Gather, maintain, and compile divisional data to actively review trends and analyze with HRBP
- Proactively contribute new ideas and initiatives to foster a positive and engaged workforce
- Recruitment and Retention
- Coordinate recruitment initiatives with the Amwins Talent Acquisition team in partnership with HRBP
- Provide guidance to leaders across the division on recruitment process and training
- Facilitate exit interviews and stay interviews for senior-level employees and maintain document of all completed interviews to analyze trends
- Compliance and Compensation
- Assist with bonus and compensation review for each position
- Work collaboratively with other Amwins teams to research and develop action plans for compliance
- Assist HRBP and leaders on mass communications as it pertains to compliance, programs, etc.
- Learning & Development
- Assist HRBP and L&D team with execution of strategy which could include research, creating presentations, and facilitating training
- Participate in in-office, offsite, and out-of-state events as needed
- Work collaboratively with L&D team to support division initiatives
- Employee Lifecycle:
- Serve as a liaison between recruitment, onboarding and payroll to ensure a successful transition from applicant to employee
- Draft and review senior-level offer packages and new hire documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Serve as an initial point of contact for HR Generalists, offering guidance and escalating issues as needed
- Process offboarding paperwork and manage communication with payroll regarding terminations for senior-level employees
- Leave Management
- Consult with leave of absence team and provide follow-up as needed to employees and managers
- Assist HRBP with complex requests such as ADA, unpaid leave, etc.
- Administration:
- In partnership with the HRBP, oversee the daily workflow of the division in which they support
- Ensure data validity in all systems and oversee the data audit process
- Provide clerical and administrative support to the HRBP
- Support the resolution of employee inquiries as a second-line resource, including HR inbox management, benefits, and other HR-related concerns
Knowledge/Experience
- A broad knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures related to field/area of work, typically acquired through a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- 4+ years of HR generalist experience
- Experience with employee relations preferred
