We’re actively seeking a talented Tax Manager to join our Corporate Tax department in Newport Beach, CA.
As a Tax Manager, you will play a critical role in leading tax accounting and compliance matters for the company. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing ASC 740 tax accounting and reporting and US tax compliance. This role involves coordinating with colleagues from various departments across the enterprise. The Tax Manager will need to be proficient in ASC 740 and corporate taxation. Life insurance company taxation and SSAP 101 tax accounting are a plus.
How you’ll help move us forward:
Prepare/review:
Consolidated provisions with an emphasis on the technical application of tax accounting rules
Tax related analysis and footnotes to be included in the Company’s financial statement filings
Quarterly forecasting including effective tax rate and cash tax projections
Uncertain tax positions under ASC 740
Support various requests from external auditors in the annual review processes with effective communication with the auditors
Support compliance with SOX controls / ICFR
Perform research to assist with tax accounting initiatives
Provide ASC 740 technical guidance to less experienced team members
Interact with corporate accounting, finance teams, and treasury on tax accounting matters
Advise and support business teams across the enterprise to provide tax analysis on various business initiatives
Manage the digitization and integration of income tax provision and compliance processes
Oversee and manage external advisors in preparation of certain tax forms and tax compliance calculations, including coordinating data requests across division business teams, responding to document requests, review of tax returns, and return to provision analysis
Manage special tax accounting or tax compliance projects as needed
The experience you bring:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
Minimum 6 years of progressive tax experience; combination of Big 4 and corporate experience with concentration in income tax accounting and corporate taxation

Strong work ethic, cross functional knowledge, and general accounting skills
Process and documentation-oriented with excellent Excel skills
Experience in developing, presenting and implementing process improvements, new approaches and best practices (knowledge of Alteryx, Power BI a plus)
Strong research, analytical, and Microsoft Office skills
Experience with Longview tax provision software and OneSource Income Tax

Base Pay Range:
The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
$134,280.00 - $164,120.00
