We have the opportunity for an
Underwriting Controls Analyst to join our
Underwriting Management department here at
Tokio Marine Kiln. Working closely with the Underwriting Controls Manager and Underwriting departments, you will help design, implement and maintain a robust underwriting controls framework, including the identification of areas where existing underwriting controls need to be enhanced and then work to support implementation of the improvements.
The role includes responsibility for:
- Assisting in the delivery and maintenance of robust underwriting controls framework across the company and Lloyd’s platforms to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assisting in production, maintenance and review of all key underwriting controls documentation including Underwriting Policy and Procedures, Underwriting Guidelines, Pricing Policy and Procedures and Independent Review Policy.
- Annual issue and maintenance of Underwriting Letters of Authority.
- Development and provision of monthly exceptions reporting and testing of key underwriting controls and KPIs to the Underwriting Committee to provide assurance that underwriting is carried out in accordance to stated risk appetite and underwriting policy.
- Assisting in the regular review, testing and attestation of underwriting controls against the Lloyd’s Principles and internal controls framework.
- Assisting the Underwriting Controls Manager and Underwriting Management team in overseeing and delivering regulatory reviews, regulatory reporting or ad-hoc projects relating to Underwriting controls.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable Lloyd’s or London market experience with a good level of knowledge on the Lloyd’s Oversight Framework. They will also have the ability to schedule and prioritise work to strict deadlines and work well with key senior stakeholders across underwriting, risk and external regulators. Knowledge of pre-bind quality assurance process (PBQA), Lloyd’s regulatory returns and underwriting exceptions reporting, and controls would also be beneficial. We are looking for a self-starter who has excellent attention to detail and can work as part of a team.
