- Help shape the pricing strategy for Commercial products during a period of strong commercial business expansion
- Work from home up to 80% of the time, fostering a work-life balance that suits your lifestyle
About the role:
Our Pricing Department is a well-established, high-performing function focused on delivering long-term value for our customers rather than chasing short-term profit. Following internal promotions, we’re pleased to offer two exciting opportunities for experienced insurance pricing specialists to join our team and help drive our continued success.
The role of a Commercial Pricing Consultant, within the Commercial Street Pricing team, is to help shape and deliver our pricing strategy for Commercial products. It’s a great time to join, as we’re entering a significant growth phase - expanding into new markets and strengthening our position in key Commercial sectors.
Your focus will be on evaluating the accuracy of our pricing models and determining final prices for customers. As a key member of the team, you’ll carry out regular scenario planning and assess the impact of pricing decisions on conversion, retention and profitability.
You’ll also take on people management responsibility for 2 to 3 direct reports, providing coaching, mentoring, and day-to-day support to help them develop their technical skills, build confidence, and perform at their full potential.
From day one, you’ll play a meaningful role in a collaborative, people-first environment where your voice matters and your contribution counts. You’ll enjoy variety, responsibility and the chance to grow both personally and professionally in a team that offers support, challenge and real opportunity.
About you:
As a commercially minded and customer oriented professional, you will have extensive experience in working within the General Insurance sector with specific experience in Insurance Pricing. You will have a proven track record of analysing complex data, drawing conclusions and delivering commercially sound recommendations in order to achieve fair and accurate customer prices.
We’re looking for someone who brings strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions even when working with complex or incomplete information.
You’ll be naturally inquisitive, always keen to understand the ‘why’ behind the data and confident in challenging assumptions to find better ways of doing things.
Strong stakeholder management will be key, as you’ll need to build trusted relationships across a variety of teams and influence at all levels. As a people manager, you’ll be comfortable leading by example - supporting, developing and motivating your team to perform at their best. Your communication skills will be a real strength, allowing you to present technical information clearly and confidently to non-technical audiences, making insight accessible and actionable.
You’ll also play an important coaching and mentoring role, sharing your knowledge and experience to help others grow. Resilience is essential, as you’ll be working in a fast-moving environment with shifting priorities—but you’ll take this in your stride, staying focused, positive and solution-oriented throughout.
Alongside being a proven performer, you’ll ideally possess the following skills and attributes:
· Ability to effectively present complex information to non-technical audiences
· Experience building and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships
· Ability to lead, encourage and motivate others, as well as assist with their work.
