Underwriting Assistant
Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Underwriting Assistant to join our Wholesale Operations team. In this role, you will provide critical support to underwriters by managing the administrative and operational aspects of the underwriting process. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to delivering excellent service to brokers and clients.
Location: Alpharetta, GA
- Underwriting Support:
- Assist underwriters in reviewing, processing, and managing insurance applications.
- Collect, organize, and verify required documentation from brokers and clients.
- Ensure submissions meet underwriting guidelines and compliance standards.
- Policy Administration:
- Prepare and issue quotes, binders, endorsements, and policies.
- Monitor policy renewals and follow up with brokers to ensure timely processing.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in underwriting systems.
- Communication and Coordination:
- Serve as a liaison between underwriters, brokers, and clients to address inquiries and provide updates.
- Communicate underwriting decisions, requirements, and next steps clearly and professionally.
- Data Management and Reporting:
- Input and maintain accurate data in underwriting and policy management systems.
- Generate reports and summaries for underwriters and management as needed.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all documentation and processes comply with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
- Conduct quality checks to minimize errors and maintain accuracy.
- Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with underwriters and team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely processing of applications.
- Support special projects or initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred.
Skills
Previous experience in insurance, underwriting, or administrative support preferred.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with underwriting software.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge
Basic understanding of insurance principles and underwriting processes is a plus.
