Job Description
The Role:
To proactively handle and adjust Reinsurance claims from first notification to settlement working within the Canopius claims team in London.
Responsibilities
- The candidate will be provided with all the training and support required to become a professional Reinsurance claims adjuster over time.
- To provide administrative support to the Reinsurance claims manager.
- To develop a thorough understanding of the Reinsurance claims portfolio.
- To gain a thorough understanding of Reinsurance policy coverages and clauses.
- In time;
- To proactively adjust claims within a set authority level and in accordance with the Canopius claims vision and obligations; ensuring and delivering excellent service to all our customers.
- To develop and maintain close and collaborative working relationships with the claims team, divisional underwriters, actuaries and other internal stakeholders.
- To ensure delegated claims are managed in accordance with Canopius claims values; ensuring effective oversight of third party service providers via regular reporting on key performance indicators, peer reviews, file reviews and generally sharing of best practice.
- To instruct and proactively oversee lawyers, loss adjusters and experts from the Canopius panel of experts and other external stakeholders where necessary.
- To ensure that sufficient financial provisions, in accordance with the Canopius reserving philosophy, are held for all claims within your portfolio.
Skills And Experience
- No previous experience is necessary although entry level experience is preferred
- Excellent communication skills both written and spoken including networking
- Strong academic background at GCSE and A-Level standard
- A good understanding of Microsoft Office suite
- A track record of building solid relationships
