Underwriting Associate
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Underwriting Associate to join our team in Dallas, TX. The ideal candidate will provide essential underwriting and administrative support to our Marine Underwriting unit, contributing to the efficient operation of the team.

Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Process new business, renewals, endorsements, cancellations, reinstatements, non-renewals, broker of record changes, state filings, and countersignatures.
- Request reports, surveys, and experience data for individual risks, as well as other related information from various bureaus or service organizations.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to gather data required for policy issuance and/or modifications.
- Monitor work queues to ensure timely processing of requests from brokers, underwriters, billing, and audit teams, while maintaining or exceeding service standards.
- Review and verify policy data for accuracy.
- Assemble, distribute, and file policies, endorsements, and related materials.
- Assist in training new team members on rating, processing, and customer service-related functions.
- Identify and communicate system-related issues.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of insurance experience, with a minimum of 2 years in commercial underwriting support.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Proficiency in data entry and computer applications, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and mainframe systems.
- Strong knowledge of Workers Compensation, General Liability, Auto rating, processing, statutory filings, and policy construction.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with remote supervision.
Preferred Qualifications For Internal Candidates
- 3+ years of prior underwriting assistant experience supporting Auto, General Liability, Workers Compensation, and Excess lines.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
