This position is responsible for the accuracy and integrity of financial data related to technology projects and products. Acts as the primary contact for financial reporting, analysis, and inquiries for assigned teams and products. Partners with Business Resiliency Management and Innovation (BRM&I) and Portfolio Execution teams to ensure financial stewardship and budget alignment. Leads a team of individual contributors to ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and controls.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
Oversees financial operations including forecasting, accruals, capitalization, and variance analysis for assigned portfolios.
Ensures compliance with audit and control standards, including SOX and internal attestation processes.
Leads monthly and quarterly financial reviews, consolidating data and providing insights to leadership.
Partners with BRM&I and Portfolio Execution to support change requests, funding approvals, and financial governance.
Manages contract and purchase order processes, ensuring alignment with funding and compliance standards.
Drives data quality and accuracy in corporate financial systems.
Provides financial analysis on run rates, labor, and capitalization trends, offering recommendations for improvement.
Collaborates with vendor management to ensure contract compliance and performance tracking.
Leads, coaches, and develops a team of individual contributors, ensuring high performance.
May perform additional duties as assigned.
Reporting Relationship
Typically reports to AVP or above.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Proven leadership in financial management for technology portfolios and projects.
Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, capitalization, and variance analysis.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
Ability to communicate financial insights to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
Experience managing vendor relationships and contract compliance.
Advanced knowledge of technology, financial processes and controls.
Strong people management and coaching capabilities.
Proficiency in tools such as Jira, Confluence, Planview, and Excel.
Preferred knowledge of the insurance industry.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
7–10 years of experience managing technology financials including capitalization and forecasting.
3–5 years of experience in people management and team development.
Experience working with technology vendors and managed service providers.
Proficiency in financial systems and reporting tools.

In District of Columbia,California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York and Washington, the national base pay range for this job level is $97,000 to $189,000 annually. Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
