Position Summary
The Broker Assistant is essential to the smooth operation of the brokerage team, ensuring that daily activities are executed efficiently and in compliance with regulatory standards. By managing administrative workflows and maintaining accurate documentation, the individual helps uphold operational integrity and supports the team's ability to meet deadlines and client expectations.
Working closely with brokers, this role facilitates timely transaction completion by processing paperwork, verifying details, and coordinating with internal departments such as legal, finance, and operations. Strong communication and organizational skills are key, as the position requires balancing multiple priorities while fostering collaboration across teams.
What will your job entail?
Job Responsibilities:
- Supports the execution and coordination of daily brokerage operations, contributing to the implementation and continuous improvement of operational procedures.
- Collaborates with brokers to prepare marketing materials, renewal documents, and cover letters, while providing administrative support including filing, printing, and archiving.
- Accurately administers and updates client information across all required systems, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
- Maintains organized and compliant records of client accounts, transactions, and related documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Delivers responsive customer service by addressing broker inquiries via phone, email, chat, or in person.
- Assists in the preparation of compliance reports and partners with brokerage and finance teams to support business requirements.
- Ensures adherence to regulatory guidelines and internal policies, contributing to the development and submission of compliance documentation.
- Participates in identifying operational risks and collaborates with risk management teams to implement effective controls.
- Provides general support to the brokerage team by completing ad hoc tasks and special requests as needed.
Work Experience:
- Less than 1 year of experience in the insurance industry or underwriting.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required; preferred fields include Business Administration, Sales, or Risk Management. Other related disciplines or equivalent work experience will be considered.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Prescribed: Minimum requirements for state Property & Casualty (P&C) and/or surplus lines licenses.
- Preferred: Not applicable.

The target hourly rate range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00 per hour.
The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
