JOB DESCRIPTION
Canopius is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join the Change team. The Change Team is responsible for delivering on strategic change within Canopius that brings measurable benefits within a defined cost and value to our business.
Reporting into the Portfolio Manager, this person will be responsible for the successful delivery of projects/programmes within the Change Portfolio. Building strong stakeholder relationships with business, technology and data teams and working with cross functional project teams, this person will play an important role in the successful delivery of the change projects to support the strategic business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsibility for the plan and delivery of our most challenging complex projects, either standalone or as part of a larger programme.
- The capture and agreement of clear and measurable scope at the start of the project and tracking through the project lifecycle
- Planning and delivery of large complex projects in line with the defined scope, success criteria and KPIs within timeline, budget and quality. Own and manage the plan and the associated milestone tracking
- Day-to-day management of all project activities
- Manage and escalate risks, actions, and issues through proactive communication and collaboration with stakeholders and various teams
- Project reporting and governance processes in accordance with the Change methodology
- Stakeholder management at all levels, including C-suite
- Creation, preparation and running of steering groups and other governance groups
- Creation of a communication plan to ensure communications are clear, transparent and timely
- Identify and manage inter project and wider dependencies across a diverse portfolio of Change
- Successful adoption of the solution, ensuring appropriate roll-out strategy and engagement.
- Adopt and continually improve upon Canopius delivery Framework and exhibit behaviours to achieve a high performing team
- Contribute to the high performing Change team and drive improvement in Project management function by working closely with other PM's to ensure knowledge and cross-sharing of information
Skills & Experience
- Proven track record of end-to-end delivery of complex, large-scale projects, ideally within the Insurance sector, with a strong emphasis on technical delivery and system integration.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technology-driven transformation initiatives, including legacy system replacement, data migration, and integration with third-party platforms.
- Strong stakeholder management capabilities, with experience engaging cross-functional teams across business, technology, and vendor landscapes.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for executive stakeholders, delivery teams, and external partners.
- Highly proactive and structured approach to project planning, risk management, and issue resolution.
- Skilled in producing high-quality project documentation, including business cases, delivery roadmaps, RAID logs, and status reports.
- Experience managing third-party vendors and service providers, including contract negotiation, performance tracking, and escalation handling.
- Extensive experience in Claims domain, with London Market Claims exposure being highly preferred.
- Familiarity with Lloyd’s of London Market operations and regulatory environment is a plus.
- Agile and Waterfall delivery experience, with the ability to adapt methodologies to suit project needs.
