Pricing Testing Consultant:
- Be part of a people-focused company that offers a collaborative, supportive environment and a varied workload.
- Take on a role that blends technical expertise with people leadership, giving you the opportunity to shape processes and mentor a growing team.
- Enjoy 80% home working, with access to excellent facilities when working from our Stratford-upon-Avon office.
About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity to take on a role that combines technical expertise with people leadership.
As part of the Testing and Assurance team, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of pricing algorithms before they are deployed into live production, while also leading and motivating team members to deliver accurate and consistent outputs.
You’ll help set and maintain assurance standards, review the work of colleagues, and carry out testing to make sure outputs are robust and error-free. Alongside your technical responsibilities, you’ll manage day-to-day workflows, delegate tasks, and provide guidance and mentoring to junior team members.
The role also involves working closely with the wider Pricing department, Underwriting and IT to ensure testing practices are properly represented across projects, as well as driving continuous improvement by refining processes and keeping up to date with industry developments.
About you:
We’re looking for someone who brings a strong foundation in testing, ideally within a pricing and underwriting environment who has exposure to business-focused testing teams. You’ll combine a structured, methodical approach with the curiosity and drive to challenge processes and contribute to continuous improvement.
People management experience, whether through direct line management or through coaching and mentoring, will be an essential pre-requisite as you’ll be guiding others and supporting their development. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are also key, alongside the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders across the business.
You’ll be confident in translating complex information into clear and straightforward messages, and have the influence needed to ensure testing best practice is both understood and adopted.
You’ll also be comfortable planning and prioritising your own workload, with a proactive mindset and the flexibility to adapt as priorities shift. Experience with test automation software would be an advantage, as would exposure to structured improvement methodologies.
In summary of the main essential attributes:
- Testing experience within a business-focused testing team, ideally in Pricing or Underwriting, is essential.
- Experience coaching, mentoring, or managing people, with the ability to bring out the best in others.
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to influence and translate technical detail into simple, actionable insight.
