Role Overview:
The Global People Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring that the organisations Human Resources practices align with legal and regulatory requirements. They will collaborate with both the HR functions and key stakeholders within risk and audit across the organisation to help identify, assess and mitigate the People risks. This role involves supporting HR stakeholders to develop and implement compliant practices that promote a fair and inclusive work environment.
Please note that this is a full-time permanent role based in our London office. The expectation is to be onsite 2-3 days per week.
Role Responsibilities:
- Work with internal and external audit teams to facilitate HR audits globally and to have oversight of all HR related actions and remediation activity results from the audits holistically across the organisation.
- Identify and assess potential risks and areas of non-compliance and develop action plans to address and mitigate them.
- Strategically planning for and carrying out assurance against global People core policies and standards.
- Coordinate the global socialisation of the internal Howden risk and control framework and collate the required data. Collaborate with Risk team to embed the framework and ensure controls are in place and risks are managed.
- Support the Policy team with the development, reviewing, and updating HR policies, processes and procedures, to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Monitor and assure policy and process adherence and provide guidance to HR team and management on policy interpretation and implementation.
- Prepare reports and documentation related to HR compliance activities, audit findings, and corrective actions taken.
- Maintain accurate and organised records of compliance audits, investigations, and related activities.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address any compliance-related inquiries or requests for information.
- Collaborate with HR and legal teams to investigate complaints, potential violations, or incidents related to HR compliance.
- Conduct thorough and impartial investigations, maintain confidentiality, and recommend appropriate actions based on investigation outcomes.
- Provide guidance and support to HR teams and management regarding employee relations issues and compliance-related concerns.
- Cover for Global People Compliance Lead’s responsibilities where/when required.
- Assist with any other People Compliance team activities or projects where required.
Role Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Understanding of controls, risk frameworks and has worked on these items within a HR department.
- Key stakeholder management skill set - able to communicate efficiently with senior stakeholders across the business.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify compliance gaps and recommend effective solutions. Able to turn strategic concepts and control frameworks into workable, practical solutions within the organisation.
- Attention to detail and ability to conduct thorough audits and investigations.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Proficient in using HR information systems and software for data analysis and reporting.
