Position Summary:
The Transactional Liability Underwriter Associate is responsible for building relationships with stakeholders, underwriting successful M&A deal execution and communicating effectively with brokers and clients. The role manages files for underwriters, prepares policy wording, non-binding indication letters, insurance policies and binder agreements to ensure seamless transaction progression. They compile data for portfolio reporting, review critical transaction documents, and assist with risk analysis.

What will your job entail?
Duties and accountabilities
- Accurate and timely input of data into relevant underwriting systems with a view to developing the ability to interpret and present findings where required
- Timely filing of documentation
- Assist with portfolio management activities to maintain compliance with underwriting objectives and corporate enterprise risk management guidelines
- Work closely with underwriters to develop knowledge of the industry and technical underwriting approach
- Establish and maintain superior business and service oriented partnerships with brokers
Skills, knowledge and experience
The successful candidate will:
- Be educated to a minimum of A-level standard, or equivalent, and must have GCSE Maths and English, or equivalent, at Grade C or above
- Have passed or be prepared to complete the Lloyd’s Introductory Test or Award in London Market Insurance shortly after employment. Completion of the CII Advanced Diploma in Insurance is encouraged.
- Demonstrate IT skills including MS Office, and have the ability to develop a full understanding of in-house systems
- Demonstrate a proactive approach and a collegiate mentality
- Demonstrate attention to detail
- Be interested in and be prepared to develop knowledge and understanding of world affairs
