As an AVP Small Commercial Distribution at Velocity, you will partner with the VP of Distribution in developing, managing and executing Distribution strategies for Velocity Small Commercial products while also managing and developing a team of distribution professionals focused on small commercial. You will work across business units to spearhead collaborate on innovative solutions and push initiatives forward to achieve goals, metrics and deadlines. You will work closely with key external producers to provide exceptional Velocity brand experience, solve problems and concerns, and drive forward identified solutions.
In addition to this role's responsibilities, you will play a key part in championing the brand and vision of Velocity. Serving as the AVP Small Commercial Distribution, you can set the tone for excitement and opportunity of the organization and bring that across the other departments. It will be important for you to communicate a positive message of Velocity, turning difficulties into opportunities and encouraging others to be "all-in" for Velocity.

The core responsibilities of this role are…
Lead and develop team of distribution professionals.
Actively traveling (60-75%) to understand the market conditions: competition, needs within the space, identifying new business and building advantageous relationships
Develop and execute specific strategic distribution strategies for different small commercial platform products.
Responsible for Producer Management driving performance from the distribution channels (i.e. plan vs actual GWP, profitability, quote levels, etc.).
• This includes broker account escalations, vetting potentials, onboarding new producers, monitoring metrics, meeting with the teams, building relationships, managing up or out, goal setting for profitability, and holding producers accountable
Responsible for marketing directly to our producers and understanding the marketplace and how to create success within the landscape.
Staying aware of market trends and competition and creating actionable strategies / changes within Velocity to stay competitive.
Work cross departmentally to drive change based off market and customer needs/ feedback.
Work Experience and Education:
5+ years related experience with portal / website platform product Small Commercial Insurance Distribution – Wholesale Focused (wholesale and retail / dual distribution a plus)
Proven ability to develop and execute growth strategy in the small commercial, website product space.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Insurance, Marketing, Business, or a related field is preferred
Technical skills: Proficiency with CRM/CSM tools is required

The target salary range for this position is $116,960.00 - $146,200.00 annually.
The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
