What is the role?
Howden is seeking a Finance Manager to join our Management Reporting team. You will be responsible for assisting the preparation of Alternative Performance Measures in Group Finance including performance metrics including Adjusted EBITDA and Organic Growth.
This will include monthly management accounts, quarterly reporting to lenders and annual accounts, as well as other ad-hoc reporting requirements. This person will be part of the Group Management Reporting team and report to the Senior Manager in the team. This role will have two direct reports.
Please note this is role is structured as an 18-month FTC (maternity cover), based in our Central London office. Following a hybrid work pattern, you are expected to be onsite 3 days per week on average.
What will you be doing?
Month-end and quarter-end reporting
Responsible for the overall production of the Group’s Alternative Performance Measures for monthly management accounts and quarterly interim financial statements for external stakeholders.
Support the growing maturity of the reporting function with various projects e.g. development of reporting system to support production of key performance measures.
Working with Divisional Finance teams to support the onboarding of new acquisitions for the purpose of preparing Adjusted EBITDA for lenders.
Assist with the development of policies and guidance for communication to Divisional Finance teams relating to Group reporting requirements.
Control the calculations and data used in the produce of the Group’s APMs.
Year-end
Contribute to the production of annual report and accounts including drafting content relevant to the groups alternative performance measures.
Co-ordination with Division and Local finance team for submission of year-end packs.
Support throughout year-end audit and assisting with resolving auditor queries where required.
Ad-hoc
Production of strong documentation to basis of preparation.
Support the Group’s implementation of a group-wide financial reporting framework.
Assisting with significant M&A reporting related activity.
Maintenance of process notes for monthly, quarterly and annual processes.
Ad-hoc reporting requests both internally as well other teams – Treasury, Tax, M&A, Divisional Finance.
Ad hoc analysis as required to support strategic objectives of CFO.
Work with Finance Systems team to control the consolidation data relevant to management reporting.
Contribute to production of materials to support the Group’s engagement with equity and debt markets.
What are we looking for?
Qualified accountant: at least 4-6 years PQE.
Knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP and relevant UK Law.
Prior experience of management reporting, ideally in insurance broking or the wider insurance industry.
Prior experience of large multi-currency group reporting.
Prior experience in using OneStream or HFM or the ability to learn reporting tool quickly.
Advanced MS Excel (Index match and VLOOKUP formulae), data manipulation and analysis.
Prior experience of managing a small team and coaching more junior team members.
