The Enterprise Risk Management Senior Specialist oversees all aspects of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Vendor Management functions. ERM supports the company’s goals and provides oversight/challenges of existing risk management processes. Vendor Management processes include vendor onboarding, performance monitoring/reporting and offboarding in coordination with MKL Global Procurement and MKL Global Security Services (GSS) to facilitate and manage State National vendors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Lead effort and work with the ERM Committee to lead and manage State National’s (SNC) Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program to identify, measure, monitor, and report on risks and associated mitigation strategies in collaboration with business units and consistent with MKL’s established ERM framework. Processes include risk and control assessment, risk appetite and metric analysis and how it applies to the operational units.
Manage the SNC/MKL dashboard, including but not limited to, partnering with risk owners to obtain updates on their respective risks, maintaining/updating the dashboard as well as coordination of and attendance at quarterly meetings with VP of Specialty Programs and President to review dashboard in advance of meeting with MKL Group Risk Management and their respective review.
Manage the emerging risks process, partnering with risk owners on a quarterly basis to identify emerging risks, mitigation plan failures, breaches of risk tolerance and opportunities to enhance activities based on changes in the organization or competitive landscape. This includes scheduling the bi-annual discussions and timing of the bi-annual email distribution for reporting potential emerging risks along with note taking at meetings or compiling feedback from emails and summarizing findings and determining which, if any, rise to the level of ERM committee consideration. Develop materials for use at the quarterly ERM meeting.
Creation, administration and analysis of enterprise risk survey; results used to assist in selecting the Company’s priority risks for the year.
Develop and compile materials for SNC’s quarterly ERM meetings along with facilitating, scheduling and note-taking.
Maintaining updated ERM materials; Heat Maps, ERM Manual, Risk Ratings, Presenter schedules, Emerging risks log, etc.
Manage the development and delivery of ERM training programs for SNC.
Maintain an understanding of the Company’s existing risks and potential emerging risks and how they impact the business units and SNC’s business plan.
Enable and foster a culture of proactive risk management across the Company by engaging with stakeholders and promoting a strong culture of integrity, transparency, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Further develop tools and processes for identifying, quantifying, prioritizing and acting on risks, with approval from the ERM Committee.
Partner with business leaders, MKL Global Procurement, MKL GSS to oversee and drive all aspects of State National’s Vendor Management Policy.
Perform required tasks, monitoring and follow-up related to State National’s Vendor Management Policy/program.
Foster and maintain effective communication between all departments
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge
Intermediate or higher level of knowledge of Microsoft Office products or equivalent programs, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Extensive and detailed knowledge of the operations of various State National departments on both sides of business, Lender and Program, including Information Technology, Account Services, Client Services, Claims, Program Implementation, Contact Center, Document Processing, Program Reinsurance, PAR, Program Client Services, Specialty Programs, Actuary, Legal, Compliance and HR strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of InsurTrak, Home Office and Merlin systems, preferred.
Skills/Abilities
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to conduct oneself professionally in all situations.
Must have strong customer service skills and a sense of urgency.

Able to display enthusiasm, promote a friendly group working environment, and work closely with other departments, as necessary.
Experience/Education
Associates degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Minimum five years’ risk management experience preferred.
Experience leading a risk management program preferred.
