About The Role
We’re looking for a commercially minded Development Underwriter to join our Lloyd’s London Market team. You’ll focus on underwriting new business, building broker relationships, and managing a profitable portfolio. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to underwriting strategy, collaborate across teams, and help shape the future of our casualty lines offering.
What you will be doing
- Underwriting new and renewal business in line with Lloyd’s standards and internal guidelines.
- Ensuring pricing adequacy and monitoring claims trends to inform underwriting decisions.
- Developing strong relationships with brokers and coverholders across the Lloyd’s and independent markets.
- Representing SRG at market events and identifying new business opportunities.
- Analysing portfolio performance and contributing to product development and forecasting.
- Collaborating with actuarial, claims, and operations teams to support cohesive portfolio management.
Who we are looking for
You’ll have a strong understanding of underwriting and market dynamics, with a proactive and commercial mindset.
- Experience underwriting casualty lines within Lloyd’s or London Market.
- Ability to build and maintain broker relationships.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Lloyd’s standards and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Collaborative approach and ability to work across teams.
