Working Pattern:
Purpose of the Role
To support efficient Treasury operations with a particular focus on the Accounts Payable process within a fast-paced, open and collaborative Treasury & Investment team. Individuals with drive, strong ability to build relationships at all levels of the business and a focus on improving efficiency will thrive. The ideal candidate will have experience with Workday, with processing payments via online banking systems . We’re also looking for someone with a keen eye for detail.
Duties And Accountabilities
- Work with colleagues in Finance and key stakeholders around the business to ensure invoices and expenses are processed and paid in an efficient manner
- Process accounting entries in the Workday system on a timely basis to accurately record transactions generated by the accounts payable function
- Assist with the reconciliation of cash positions to ensure these are accurately captured in the general ledger system
- Complete monthly analysis on Credit Card and Travel expenditure and produce accounting journals for upload into Workday
- Build and maintain good working relationships with senior stakeholders within the organisation in support of procurement/payment related queries
- Prepare information required for cash planning and cash flow forecasts
- Assist with month end deliverables and liaise with Group and Statutory Reporting team to ensure the ledger is closed in a timely manner
- Maintain policy and procedure documentation and make recommendation on how processes and workflows can be amended to increase efficiency and effectiveness
- Collate information for external auditors and liaise with them to ensure audit goes smoothly and a good relationship is maintained
- Provide cover for broader treasury team in support of cash management and forecasting processes as required
- Involvement in other finance team projects and ad hoc requests as required
Skills, Knowledge And Experience
- Foundation/Intermediate knowledge of concepts applicable to accounting for expenses and other cash transactions, including tax treatments
- Experience of working in a finance team within the financial sector
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience with Banking platforms and mechanisms that are utilised for day- to- day banking (including payments and custodian services for investments)
- IT skills including knowledge of MS Office and relevant accounting package (Workday preferred)
- Ability to builds and maintains good internal and external relationships
- Proactive, customer-service focussed attitude
- Knowledge of the Lloyd's Market and associated trust fund infrastructure preferred
