Wage Transparency: The base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $90,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
About the Role
We’re looking for an Investment Analyst who will join as a key member of the group retirement team. The successful candidate will work autonomously and in collaboration with consultants and account managers to service the retirement block of the business. This includes liaising with other internal team members & carrier stakeholders.
What You'll Do
- Investment Analysis & Reporting
- Utilize Morningstar Direct and Excel to prepare quarterly and annual investment review reports.
- Analyze fund performance, risk metrics, and benchmark comparisons.
- Identify trends and provide actionable insights for plan sponsors and committees.
- Data Management
- Collaborate with insurance carriers to gather and validate investment data, including fund lineups, performance, and fees.
- Maintain accurate records of fund changes and updates.
- Governance & Committee Support
- Participate in Investment Committee meetings, sharing insights and recommendations.
- Prepare meeting materials, including fund performance summaries and market commentary.
- Research & Market Monitoring
- Monitor market trends, economic indicators, and regulatory changes impacting investment options.
- Conduct research on new funds or strategies for potential inclusion in plan lineups.
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with internal teams to support client deliverables.
- Support Financial Planner and Sales teams – includes building client reports, reviewing and validating materials, and preparing presentations as needed
What you Bring
- Experience working with Morningstar software required
- 1+ year of work experience in the group insurance industry specifically in group retirement services.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including business writing skills
- Ability to manage projects and teammates
- Exceptional attention to detail including strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize/manage workload under pressure with tight deadlines
- Ability to work autonomously but also able to collaborate well with team
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
- Familiarity with AI-enabled tools used to enhance reporting, automate routine tasks, and improve workflow efficiency
- LLQP and/or CSC designation are not required but considered an asset
