Position Summary
The Underwriting Operations Director oversees the underwriting process, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and profitability. They collaborate with teams, develop policies, and drive operational excellence.
What will your job entail?
Job Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement underwriting strategies aligned with organizational goals.
· Drive profitability and growth through effective risk management.
· Establish financial control guidelines, administrative standards, and best practices.
· Ensure adherence to underwriting policies and procedures.
· Analyze risk factors, evaluate applications, and make informed decisions.
· Maintain risk selection criteria.
· Monitor underwriting quality, customer concerns, and areas for improvement.
· Provide input for system enhancements.
· Stay informed about industry trends and competitor practices.
· Adjust underwriting strategies accordingly.
· Uphold professional integrity in all underwriting activities.
Work Experience and Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management or Business;
· A minimum of 12 years of experience in Insurance Underwriting.
· 5+ years of management experience
· Ability to establish financial control guidelines, administrative standards, and best practices
Licenses & Certifications:
· Associate in Reinsurance (ARe), associate in insurance service (AIS) or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) is preferred

The target salary range for this position is $217,840.00 - $272,300.00 annually.
The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
