The Lead Quality Assurance Consultant is responsible for the application of Quality Assurance process and delivering high quality software that meet minimum standards and end-user requirements, optimizing project quality, champion efficiencies through test automation and AI adoption in day-to-day work. As the fourth and most senior level in the Quality Assurance job stream, the Lead Quality Assurance Consultant is recognized as an expert in quality assurance and acts independently with only general direction. This role also assigns and coordinates the activities of other quality assurance team members, balancing technical leadership and general management to consistently deliver high quality products and services.
How you will create impact:
- Developing and documenting functional & automation test strategies for medium to complex projects.
- Leading the quality assurance effort on complex projects that span teams/entities. Overseeing the following types of testing: functional, integration, system, regression, risk based/mitigation, non-functional testing and user acceptance testing (using manual or automated methods/tools as appropriate).
- Creating and maintaining the test schedule, project and resource plans, including estimates on future project development and resource planning and management. Tracking and reporting on testing progress against schedule and adjust task assignments to compensate for variances.
- Monitoring results of other quality assurance team members and providing feedback on individual performance on an ongoing basis. Consulting and providing direction for other project teams in terms of test strategy and approach.
- Collaborating with internal/external IT teams across geographies, vendor partners and project management to ensure open communication and quality/timely deliverables
- Researching and implementing new or improved testing/quality assurance methods, processes, and tools, customizing methods to suit the needs of each project within the program.
- Interfacing with project managers, business systems analysts and systems developers to ensure quality assurance needs are met, to influence their workflows to strengthen quality assurance processes, and to act as a communication liaison across multiple projects/entities to optimize communication channels and successfully resolve quality issues.
- Training, mentoring and/or directing quality assurance analysts on industry best practices pertaining to quality assurance, including vendor course and training evaluations.

To join our team:
- You have a degree or diploma in Information Technology or Computer Science, along with at least 8 years' relevant experience in test planning and designing test documentation, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- You have extensive experience in managing large, complex application test initiatives.
- You have significant understanding of project lifecycle, testing methodology, and automation testing tools knowledge.
- You have a proven ability to lead test initiatives involving concurrent releases and/or multiple versions of the same code.
- Experience using Selenium, DevTest, Postman or similar test automation tools for UI/API testing, data driven and/or BDD automation frameworks
- You have a broad understanding of technical concepts, applications, test environments, version management tools, programming tools, operating systems and interfaces.

Expected salary/hourly range $91,058 - $141,000+
The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Sovereign in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.
Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation tied to individual and/or business performance, or other business metrics.
