JOB DESCRIPTION
One of Insight Global's leading Insurance Companies is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join its team in Boston. In this role, they will provide technical and organizational leadership for multiple engineering teams supporting their direct-to-customer digital platform. Rather than being hands-on with coding, they will focus on engineering execution, team leadership, and enabling scalable, cloud‑native solutions that support a fast‑growing insurance business. You will partner closely with Product, Architecture, Program Management, and Customer Experience teams to align priorities, drive Agile delivery, and ensure secure, reliable, and intuitive customer-facing applications. Compensation: $80 - 96/hr Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- 12+ years of progressive experience in software engineering
- 3+ years of experience in an engineering leadership or management role
- Proven experience managing multiple engineering teams and senior technical contributors
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, Sprint planning, and team delivery dynamics
- Experience delivering enterprise-scale, cloud-native applications
- Hands-on knowledge of AWS or similar cloud platforms
- Experience with microservices architectures and event-driven systems
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and observability tooling Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to align engineering execution with strategic business objectives
- Experience overseeing the full software development lifecycle, including secure coding and testing practices
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Background in Property & Casualty or commercial insurance
- Experience with modern programming languages such as Golang, Java, or C# Familiarity with front-end frameworks such as React or Vue.js
- Exposure to platform engineering, developer experience (DevEx), and enablement teams
- Experience supporting 24×7 production environments and incident management Knowledge of security, compliance, and regulatory requirements in enterprise environments
