Job Summary
AgriSompo is seeking a Senior Programmer to maintain and enhance our custom-built crop insurance application. The system, called AgriNet, is considered one of the leading crop insurance applications in the industry. It supports all of the insurance functions including policy administration, quoting/rating, GIS mapping of cropland, claims, accounting, reporting and transmission of data to the U.S. Government. We have approximately 3,000 Agents and 900 employees using the system to support approximately 80k policy holders and 90m acres of farmland.
Job Responsibilities:
Work with Technical Leads and Senior Engineers in defining, designing, building, managing, and maintaining technical solutions in accordance with the IT SDLC processes, standards and best practices.
Ensure that functional and non-functional requirements are clearly understood, designed against, tested and documented for performing, reliable, scalable, portable and highly available applications
Participate in code reviews and validations for engineers’ deliverables, and ensure that proper level (as required by SDLC) of design documentation, traceability and test coverage are in place for functional and non-functional requirements and use-cases
Manage enhancements and changes, and resolution of incidents and problems for technical solutions in accordance with IT service delivery and support principles and SLAs.
Technical Qualifications:
5-10 years software development experience
Extensive knowledge of .NET language
Web UI/Java Script Frameworks
SQL - Strong database development skills (SQL Server)
Working knowledge / experience is required in SOA, WCF, Web Services (SOAP, REST, XML, JSON) and various transport and security protocols.
Working experience with application development tools (e.g. GIT, Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, etc.)
General Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or similar
A team player with solid communication skills, excellent at problem solving, troubleshooting, and embracing new challenges
Positive attitude and the ability to remain flexible in a dynamic environment
Ability to manage time across multiple, simultaneous projects
Must demonstrate the ability to work effectively as a member of a team, as well as the maturity to work independently.
