Our Claims Management Team is looking for a dynamic self-starter with a broad claims handling background. Utilizing previous experience and established corporate philosophies, policies, procedures and standards, the successful candidate will oversee a diverse portfolio of commercial liability and specialty lines claims including professional liability.
How you will create impact:
- Setting up and investigating claims as assigned within authority level, providing control and direction to adjusters, appraisers, and solicitors to ensure claims advance in a timely manner.
- Reviewing and interpreting the insurance policy wordings, loss information and drafting coverage letters as required.
- Maintaining extensive knowledge of insurance coverage, settlement methods, procedure, investigation methods, and creative negotiation skills and file management.
- Reporting on loss and expense reserves within established guidelines.
- Liaising, collaborating and maintaining good relationships with the underwriting team, submitting risk information where appropriate.
- Attend training, meetings and industry events as an individual and team contributor as needed.
To join our team:
- A minimum of 5-10 years claims experience with an emphasis on multi-line commercial lines claims.
- Previous experience handling commercial property and liability claims required
- Previous experience with equipment breakdown and professional liability claims is an asset.
- Previous experience with Guidewire in a paperless claims environment is beneficial.
- CIP, FCIP or working towards designation required.

Expected salary/hourly range $72,847 - $121,411
The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Sovereign in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.
