Crum & Forster’s Intern opportunity is designed to provide college students with hands-on exposure to the insurance industry. By providing challenging assignments that offer real-world experience in applying business education to short-term projects, students gain first-hand industry knowledge and receive valuable on-the-job training.
Qualifying Candidates:
- Current college student working towards a degree in an accredited college or university
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organization, time management and planning skills are essential
- Experience with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word & Power Point)
- A passion for learning
- An innovative, entrepreneurial spirit
- Ability to take ownership and see tasks through to completion
- Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities
Responsibilities:
This position is to support and develop in-house, cloud-based, data-driven solutions and initiatives, particularly:
- Working closely with team of system administrators maintain the data pipelines that support the team’s Data Lakehouse
- Facilitate data preparation for use cases involving internal reporting, Data Lakehouse integrations, and predictive analytics
- Leverage agile software development methods to make iterative enhancements to the Data Lakehouse infrastructure and ETL processes
- Working with the Snowflake Cloud Platform (Horizon Catalog, Snowpark, Cortex, etc)
- Working with data ingestion tools such as Fivetran or CData Sync
- Working with the full suite of AWS Analytics Services (Glue, Athena, Lake Formation, etc)
- Working with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL
- Working with version control software such as Git

Salary ranges are available for all positions at this location, taking into account roles with a comparable level of responsibility and impact in the relevant labor market and these salary ranges are regularly reviewed and adjusted in accordance with prevailing market conditions. The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $16.00 to a maximum of $27.50 per hour. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
