Job Description
Chubb Surety is seeking a detail-oriented Surety Underwriter to join our Home Office middle market construction group team. This role is responsible for executing underwriting strategies, ensuring compliance with service standards The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical underwriting expertise, and a commitment to contributing to a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively engage in the dual underwriting process to ensure accounts meet Quality Account Standards.
- Engage in the underwriting process in collaboration with branch & home office underwriters, peers, and the director, ensuring service standards are met for all accounts and prospective opportunities.
- Communicate clearly and promptly with branches regarding bond approvals, conditions, and information requirements.
- Support branches in analyzing new business opportunities and ensure alignment between branch and home office on risk selection and action plans.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the Surety Home Office, field, and across departments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Risk Management/Insurance, Actuarial Science, or Marketing preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in underwriting or similar insurance function.
- Knowledge of surety products, underwriting standards, and risk assessment is highly desired.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
The pay range for the role is $82,000 to $118,000 The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. Chubb offers a comprehensive benefits package, more details on which can be found on our careers website. The disclosed pay range estimate may be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
