You’ll contribute to the development of the long-term direction of NFUM through partnering, planning and influencing across our life, pensions and investments business. Working closely with the senior management team the role will provide challenge, insight and analysis enabling informed decisions on sales, expenses and profitability to help deliver the Group’s long-term strategic objectives. In addition, you will lead and develop a small team of 4, consisting of a combination of finance and non-finance professionals.You’ll partner, influence and challenge the business to ensure the financial implications of business decisions and change are fully considered and to contribute commercial insight and financial best practice to business performance management. The role will focus on our life insurance, pensions and investment business, supporting the business to achieve its ambitions in a competitive and evolving market.You’ll also build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of business stakeholders, including senior leaders, to understand business dynamics and ensure the effective delivery of objectives.As part of the management team, you’ll identify, propose and facilitate the delivery of improvements to the partnering, planning and analysis proposition, leveraging emerging technology to enhance customer experience and develop excellence in Financial Planning & Analysis.About youAs a Senior Finance Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in managing financial performance and delivering insights that shape strategic decision-making. Drawing on your financial planning and analysis experience, you will analyse and report on sales and expense trends and overall profitability, using your commercial insight to challenge technical stakeholders around the business. Your understanding of the life insurance, pensions and investments market will be invaluable as you provide informed recommendations and challenge thinking.You will have strong collaboration skills, with the confidence to challenge subject matter experts e.g. Actuaries in a variety of technical assumptions, such as the value of long-term business including expenses and policy persistency. Your ability to translate complex data into actionable insights through data visualisation and storytelling will enable you to distil key messages for a senior audience. You will also be able to think strategically, working with the business towards the delivery of our 2035 strategy, and assessing how future initiatives will impact key metrics and future forecasts.You’ll work closely with senior leaders, ensuring your insights are clear, compelling, and actionable. By fostering collaboration and applying your expertise, you will play a vital role in shaping NFU Mutual’s financial strategy and performance.
