Reporting to the Manager, Finance and Accounting, this role will perform key Treasury and Accounting tasks to ensure control of cash balances and accurate financial reporting. The role will also contribute to development of cash forecasts, reinsurance operations, and exciting projects to deliver new business value.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Financial Analyst will be responsible for the following:
Daily cash operations activities including verifying and monitoring daily cash flow, processing expense payments, and cash accounting entries.
Month-end financial close activities including journal entry preparation, intercompany settlement, and reconciling general ledger accounts.
Assisting with audit and fraud prevention requests as needed, and ensuring adherence to various internal controls.
Forecasting cash flows for senior team members review, and assisting with cash flow analysis.
Assisting in preparation of monthly managed expense dashboards including expense forecast for management, and participate in meetings with leadership to highlight key drivers against budget.
Developing logic for automation of routine cash accounting transactions within Workday ERP system.
Preparing various reinsurance accounting schedules to support billing and reporting functions.
Streamlining or automating existing workflows where possible by thinking outside the box.
May perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Detail oriented with strong organizational skills and capable of managing multiple deadlines effectively.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with an ability to think beyond standard operating procedures.
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
A desire to learn and grow in the role, and approach work with a positive mindset.
Advanced MS Office skills, particularly with Excel.
Strong knowledge of other enterprise business tools, including responsible use of AI‑enabled technologies (such as Copilot or similar) to enhance efficiency, analysis and workflow in accordance with company policies.
Experience with VBA, SQL, PowerBI, or AI tools such as Copilot is considered an asset.
Experience with Workday is considered an asset.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent.
Completion, or working towards an accounting or finance designation such as CPA or CFA.
Minimum 1 year of professional experience required in an accounting or finance setting, with P&C experience being an asset.

The base salary range for this position is $65,000-$85,000, complemented by a comprehensive and competitive benefits package to help our employees – and their family members – achieve their physical, financial, emotional, and social wellbeing goals.
