Sompo has a unique opportunity for an Associate Capital Analyst in our Risk Department within the Capital Model Production team.
Our Capital Model is used to provide innovative risk analytics to support strategic business decisions. The business is over $16bn in size with respect to Underwriting exposure, and the model focuses on internal risk analytics (rather than regulatory reporting). The Capital Model Production Team offers diverse experience across all risk areas, including Underwriting, Reserving, Reinsurance, and Investments. We work closely with the Model Development Team, the Model Parameterization and Use Team and the Capital Management Team.

What you’ll be doing:
- Production of Capital Model Run updates across all risk areas. Including:
- Underwriting Non-Catastrophe
- Underwriting Catastrophe, both Natural and Manmade.
- Reserve Risk
- Reinsurance Modelling
- Investment Risk
- Various dependencies
- Review of Capital Model Run input and output ‘Analysis if Change’.
- Preparation of model analytics for senior business leaders.
What you’ll bring:
- P&C insurance experience from an risk actuarial background
- Experience with risk modelling techniques.
- Excellent reporting skills and ability to communicate technical elements of the Capital Model.
