Arch Insurance Group, Inc., seeks Manager, Software Engineering, in Jersey City, NJ
Job Duties: Provide leadership in aligning information systems development with business objectives for assigned business applications and/or technologies. Provide overall direction and guidance to Engineers, Developers, Data Analysts, Testers, DevOps and contract labor teams. Drive data/software development within the team to ensure execution of project work plans. Help coordinate department priorities and ensure data/software development objectives are successfully met. Responsible for effective and timely development of new and/or enhanced data platforms/systems/technologies. Monitor all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle and Production Support service levels. Ensure high level technical support is provided. Work closely with customers, other IT managers, and management to identify and maximize opportunities to use technology to improve business processes. Prepare business cases, including financial analyses of potential new technologies/systems/applications. Evaluate based on company strategic needs and resource availability. Oversee business analysis, development work and quality assurance of projects for assigned systems/technologies. Collaborate effectively at all levels to prepare strategic plans. Ensure system requests tie into objectives of the company strategy map and budgets. Contribute to the development of information technology development standards, policies, processes and procedures to ensure consistent compatibility and integration throughout the company. Continuously review the technology needs of supported business functions/processes relative to new technological developments and trends. Keep abreast of the industry and emerging technology. Participate in vendor/strategic partner evaluations and monitor the relationship on an ongoing basis. Prepare and manage department budget: P&L forecasting, operational/capital expenditures, contract negotiations and invoice processing. Lead and manage team to accomplish objectives through effective recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management and rewards and recognition.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Systems Management, Electrical & Electronics Engineering or related field plus 4 years of experience as Programmer Analyst, Software Engineer or related IT position.
Must have:
4 years of ETL/ELT experience working with Informatica, IICS, DBT, and StreamSets.
2 years of experience working with Qlik Replicate or other similar data ingestion tools/technologies.
2 years of experience with Snowflake, and SQL Server.
Experience with:
Working in an environment that requires SOX, SOC-2, NYDFS, and related regulations compliance.
CICD process.
Source code version control system GitHub including branching, merging, resolving code conflicts, and 3-way and baseless merges.
Azure cloud environment
Programing in Python, Spark, PySpark or other similar modern languages.
Working with Power BI, and agile methodologies.
Data modelling for data vault & dimensional models.
Working with external data feed to enrich internal data
Data conformance process.
Monitoring and supporting production database and server environment.
Enhancement management and product lifecycle development.
Working in the P&C insurance industry.
Hybrid work model position, working 2 days in office, and 3 days remote from within normal commuting distance of the office location.
For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.
$219,440 to $220,000 per year (Jersey City, NJ)
Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs.
