The role:
Lead the International Programmes (IP) team and ensure the efficient and effective servicing of multinational / International Programmes business, on behalf of the HDI Group Global Network, UK and Ireland business. This includes meeting agreed service and data quality standards, both internal and external. You will be expected to identify improvement opportunities, and collaborate with other business teams to drive initiatives that will deliver continuous improvement.
You will be responsible for supporting the growth of our key strategic International Programmes.
Key accountabilities:
- To manage the UK and Ireland International Programmes Team.
- Responsible for day to day running of the team liaising with the team members and other leaders for operational matters.
- Responsible for ensuring team members perform effectively in their roles.
- Ensure that all Policies are processed in accordance to a service standards that provides effective client servicing.
- Act as the main referral point for the team for both technical and operational issues.
- Responsible for delivery of IP operational KPI’s and service levels as required by the business.
- Ensure the service delivery expectations of our clients are met.
- Identifying improvement opportunities through a focus on innovation within the function, and working with stakeholders across the business (both locally and globally) to help build solutions to address these opportunities.
- Continuously build strong relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders to enhance communication, collaboration, knowledge sharing and develop mutually beneficial solutions to the servicing of business.
- Be an active advocate for change and improvement in operations to help support future operational needs.
- To proactively participate in projects or other initiatives designed to improve the effectiveness or efficiency of the department, International programmes globally and/or the UK & Ireland business and challenge the status quo. To be an ambassador for change within the team and organisation.
- To attract and retain talent through a diverse approach to recruitment and talent development.
- Build a successful & motivated team by ensuring team members are onboarded properly, given appropriate levels of training and development, and opportunities for team building and integration is given to all team members.
- Responsibility for ensuring staff have requisite skills in order to perform their roles and they follow their personal development plan.
- Create a culture of continuous learning both technically and developmentally.
- To organise skills self-assessment, facilitate with creation of development plan/objectives, monitor progress and support staff to fulfil on their goals.
- Ensure self and staff are kept up to date with changes in Head Office and Local requirements which impact the overall insurance operations processes.
- Responsible for managing, monitoring and reporting on achievement for agreed service standards.
- Ensure any actual or potential failures are identified and reported promptly to the relevant parties such as the Head of department, UKI COO, Underwriting teams, Finance, Credit Control, Risk Team or Global IP Team.
- Responsible for data quality and integrity of underwriting and operations data.
- Ensure that all data is recorded promptly and accurately within the requisite systems.
- Ensure any errors or omissions are promptly raised and corrective actions are taken, liaising with Operations team, Underwriting teams, Producing offices, credit control and other teams as appropriate.
- Ensure maintenance of accurate electronic records for auditing and regulatory purposes.
- Support branch payments authorisations processes as required.
Skills & experience:
- Experience of leading servicing / operational teams
- Good knowledge of International Programmes / Multinational business
- Good understanding of multinational programmes implementation
- Ability to demonstrate leaderships skills including motivating and developing employees
- Strong planning and organisation skills, able to manage own workload and that of the teams as required and be able to effectively delegate to meet service standards
- Ability to lead a team through organisational change and understand change management concepts & themes
- Strong risk management skills, experience in the design, implementation and monitoring of operational controls
- Excellent analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding about underwriting policy construction, able to read underwriting files and understand what data needs to be recorded
- Strong systems knowledge, particularly experience of using various company bespoke systems to capture and monitor data
- A Level or equivalent qualifications; CII qualified at diploma level or equivalent experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Good team-building & interpersonal skills
- Highly numerate
- Proficient user of Excel & Word
