We have an incredible opportunity to join us as a Financial Risk Project Manager within our Financial Risk Operations team, within Financial Risk.
The Financial Risk Project Manager will support the Head of Financial Risk Operations and Financial Risk team in the operational management of the team. You will support the Financial Risk Director and Head of Financial Risk Operations in ensuring the Financial Risk resources are aligned to the risk Vision and Mandate and supports delivery of the business strategy. Where the resourcing budget is not sufficient to provide the required level of risk oversight or support the business ambition, the role will work with the Financial Risk Leadership team to identify and assess appropriate solutions.
The role will support the Financial Risk Director and Head of Financial Risk Operations with budgeting and forecasting, ensuring there is cost discipline embedded across the team. The role will also support the team with action tracking; and planning and resource management. There is an opportunity to support with shaping the activity in order to optimise how we run the function.

What are we looking for?

Key responsibilities
Help manage the Financial Risk Ops Office, working with the Head of Financial Risk Operations. Activity includes budgeting and resource planning for business planning, forecasting and budget management, action tracking, and managing other deliverables into CRO Ops Office. Support embedding of cost discipline across the team.
Work with the team to successfully plan team resourcing applying project management tools and team collaboration techniques, so that key activity to support effective oversight and business objectives is appropriately resourced. Support pro-active management of critical deliverables into committees, working with the Financial Risk Leadership team. This includes helping to influence business stakeholders, particularly where forward planning isn’t available to support demand and supply management.
Help Financial Risk Leadership team by providing tools that supports capturing of resource requirements at an appropriate level to allow effective planning at a level commensurate with the complexity of the work. Provide management of key deliverables for the team, most notably the Business Plan Review, ORSA and Recovery and Resolution Plans.
Support team in identifying and implementing ways of working that allows the team to be agile and flexible to support business needs – particularly ad-hoc critical requests – leveraging also lessons learnt from past reviews to support areas for improved delivery.
Support the Head of Financial Risk Management and team to ensure the approach to resourcing supports delivery of individual development objectives.
Identify and actively manage stakeholders across risk and the business, helping ensure key stakeholders are kept informed.
Essential
- Strong financial management experience, including ownership of expense planning, resource allocation, and working with leaders to resolve resource and cost challenges effectively.
- Proficient knowledge of various project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Scrum), with the ability to apply the most appropriate approach to different situations.
- Extensive project management experience, in particular on large, complex projects that involve cross-functional resourcing, planning and delivery management.
- Experience working in or alongside risk management and/or finance.
- Proven ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
