JOB DESCRIPTION
Canopius is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate claims professional to lead a team dedicated to enhancing the performance of our Delegated Claims Administrators (DCAs ), while ensuring they meet all baseline contractual obligations. This role also involves ongoing benchmarking to ensure we partner only with best-in-class DCAs who align with the Canopius claims vision and values.
The successful candidate will ensure the team collaborates effectively with the wider Claims function, engaging with colleagues across global claims teams and a broad range of stakeholders, including Product and Business Units, Conduct, Risk, Underwriting, Complaints, Procurement, Legal, and Delegated Authority Management.
We are primarily seeking a Manager with the skills to motivate, develop and drive the team to deliver excellence in delegated claims. This is a diverse and rewarding role within a highly collaborative claims team committed to delivering our Claims Vision.
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Performance: Set goals, monitor progress, provide feedback, and ensure the team is well-resourced and trained.
- HR & Recruitment: Collaborate with HR on performance matters and manage recruitment and onboarding with appropriate approvals.
- Delegated Claims Oversight: Supervise DCA performance, chair the Delegated Claims Management Group, and maintain effective controls and communication cadence.
- Data & Risk Management: Ensure timely review of DCA performance MI, address gaps, escalate material risks, and support FCA value measures and product reviews.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain strong relationships across claims and underwriting, support onboarding of new DCAs, and contribute to fee reporting and expert appointments.
- Strategic Projects & Governance: Lead DCA-related projects, support audit execution, update contracts, and provide insights to internal forums and leadership teams.
Skills And Experience
- Candidates should have experience working with delegated business either as a claims adjuster or, in an operational capacity.
- Demonstrates enthusiasm, confidence, honesty, integrity and fairness, while role modelling the Canopius Claims Vision and values.
- Willing to take responsibility, self-motivated, and driven to lead by example.
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Committed to delivering high-quality service and maintaining a customer-first approach.
- Capable of reviewing data, developing action plans, prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines proactively.
- Communicates openly and respectfully, with proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and handling various data formats.
