Description
The US Casualty team focuses on the US Commercial market, providing cover to large Fortune 1,000 risks and smaller business with complex exposures. Our insurance policies cover bodily injury and property damage to third parties from the operations of our insured clients, such as rail crashes, explosions, product defects, and auto crashes. The products we provide include General Liability, Auto and Employer Liability for clients headquartered in the US.
As an Underwriter joining our team, you’ll make a meaningful contribution to growing and maintaining our portfolio and you’ll help ensure the effective delivery of the vision and strategy to your agreed authority level.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and manage business on a client relationship basis for specific portfolio and product groups and platforms within the SBU.
- Ensure risks are written within the agreed parameters – making sound long term decisions on risks that are written.
- Develop and proactively manage the designated business by utilising relevant resources as appropriate.
- Where appropriate collaborate with other portfolios, products and SBU’s across the regions to leverage relationships and opportunities.
- Align to and deliver tactical client intimacy initiatives within the portfolio(s), markets and product forum.
- Undertake analysis of the portfolio to identify business opportunities, products and clients, ensuring a robust business case.
- Where appropriate, seek out and grow opportunities with new clients.
- Ensure client intimacy is achieved through the efficient oversight of issues raised including liaison to ensure effective conclusion to complaints and claims.
- Conduct role in accordance with the Company’s Business Ethics policy and all regulated entities as appropriate.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- Experience in writing or broking US and / or International Casualty business in the London market.
- Robust relationships with brokers and clients.
- Enjoy meeting and building relationships with our major existing clients across the globe and seeking out new target clients.
- Naturally curious with a keen desire and ability to learn.
