The primary function of this position is to support efforts in providing valuable insights, solutions, services, and portfolio improvements through data & analytics. Activities include, but are not limited to data analysis, statistical modeling, and creating tooling and visualization solutions.
Job Responsibilities
Partner with Claims, Underwriting, IT, and product line actuaries to support analytics efforts and provide additional actuarial insights
Perform data analytics and statistical modeling on existing data sets to provide insights into business performance and improve topline decision making
Create more efficient management reporting and/or support dashboards using appropriate reporting tools
Support design and implementation of automated reporting solutions
Be an advocate for the use of data to support data driven decision making
Research and apply knowledge of existing and emerging data science principles, theories, and techniques to inform business decisions
Develop strategic tools and actionable insights to enable smarter underwriting and claims decisions that will augment existing processes
Education
Certification
Work Experience/Skill Set
Minimum of 3 years of data analytics experience
Commercial insurance experience strongly preferred
SQL and Python programming experience (R also accepted)
Flexible with the ability to shift focus quickly from one project to another while maintaining accuracy
Ability to manage ad hoc requests that have tight timelines while continuing to make progress on long-term projects
Outstanding oral, written communication and interpersonal skills
Team player with analytical, quantitative and leadership abilities
