The Role
Proactive adjustment of claims within their claims authority and in accordance with established claim policies and procedures. To handle claims independently, under the guidance of senior leaders. Deliver excellent claims service to all customers, through effective claims management.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- To proactively adjust standard and complex claims within their claims authority and in accordance with the established Claims Manual, meeting all regulatory requirements, ensuring that controls are operating effectively and by achieving KPI (Key Performance Indicators).
- Determine the validity, accuracy and extent of coverage, liability and quantum.
- Develop a thorough understanding of Treaty Reinsurance (Cross Class)
- To monitor circumstances that may turn into claims whether in relation to individual risks or global events, such as major Catastrophes or significant losses of interest.
- Ensuring that adequate financial provisions, in accordance with the Canopius Reserving Philosophy, are held for every claim that you own.
- Ensuring that every claim is regularly reviewed and proactively managed to resolution, through effective diary management.
- Ensuring and delivering excellent claims service to all customers, by effectively driving claims through to resolution.
- Communicate proactively with internal and external stakeholders, both in writing and verbally ensuring excellent customer service to cedants, brokers, follow market, underwriters, actuaries, and senior management.
- Making clear, comprehensive, and meaningful notes on the claims management system.
- To identify cedant audits and report back to the RI Claims Manager.
- To flag any issues of concern/trends to the Claims Manager and Head of Reinsurance.
- Provide support to the claims capability in relation to management of claims and/or project work.
