The Role
The Security & Counterparty Technical Team Lead plays a strategic and enabling role within the business, supporting senior management through deep systems expertise, technical insight, and collaborative project leadership. Operating outside of day-to-day operations, this role focuses on driving efficiency and innovation across broking, onboarding, and ancillary platforms.
As a subject matter expert and technical escalation point, the role contributes to the design, testing, and implementation of systems that underpin key business processes. It also supports the development of team capabilities through mentoring, training, and knowledge sharing, ensuring scalable and sustainable solutions across the function.
What You'll Be Doing
Acting as a subject matter expert and final escalation point for technical issues across platforms such as Global XB, Sector, Acturis, and Salesforce.
Leading requirements gathering, configuration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for system improvements and new implementations.
Translating business needs into system capabilities to support senior management strategy.
Providing system-level insights and documentation to strengthen the team’s knowledge base.
Serving as Business Product Owner on strategic projects, contributing to technical design and execution.
Collaborating with internal departments, external vendors, developers, and IT teams to ensure flawless delivery.
Influencing decision-making by feeding into senior stakeholders, including the Group Head of Security & Counterparty.
Mentoring data analysts and supporting task prioritisation and technical problem-solving.
Delivering targeted training to promote system literacy and adoption across the business.
Championing best practices and continuous improvement in system usage and workflows.
Who We're Looking For
A systems-focused professional with deep understanding of broking and onboarding platforms within the insurance sector.
Experienced in requirements gathering, UAT, and system configuration.
Strong communicator with excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
Able to lead technical initiatives and influence outcomes without direct line management.
Collaborative mindset with experience working across internal and external teams.
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Proactive problem-solver with a focus on scalable and sustainable solutions.
Skilled in translating business needs into technical requirements.
Passionate about mentoring and developing team capabilities.
Committed to driving innovation and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a technical systems role within insurance or financial services.
Strong working knowledge of platforms such as Global XB, Acturis, Salesforce, and ServiceNow.
Experience in leading UAT, system configuration, and cross-functional projects.
No formal qualification required, but relevant certifications or training in systems, project management, or business analysis would be beneficial.
