Job Type: Fixed Term Contract – 9 months
Location: This role would be based in our Edinburgh office with time spent working in the office (2 days a week) and at home.

The role
As a Research Manager at Phoenix, you will be instrumental in shaping and delivering research initiatives that place the customer at the heart of our decision-making. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven and passionate research professional to make a tangible impact and grow their career within a dynamic Insight team.
Operating within our Performance and Insight function, you’ll help build a deep understanding of customer needs, attitudes, and perceptions—ensuring our strategies are informed by robust, actionable insight. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in undertaking research (in an in-house or agency role), project management, and stakeholder engagement, with the ability to translate complex data into meaningful insight.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver a range of end-to-end research projects, including scoping, design, execution, analysis, and reporting.
- Translate business challenges into effective research approaches using both qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
- Manage and evolve core aspects of our internal research tracking programme, ensuring insights are timely, relevant, and actionable.
- Craft compelling reports that clearly communicate findings and support strategic decision-making.
- Bring data to life by identifying key insights that drive better outcomes for our customers.
- Act as a research ambassador, promoting best practices and serving as a key contact for internal stakeholders and external research partners.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in leading full-cycle research projects in either an in-house or agency setting.
- Strong ability to design and execute research using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Skilled in interpreting complex data and translating it into clear, strategic insights.
- Excellent report writing and storytelling skills, with a focus on business impact.
- Deep understanding of research best practices and ability to advocate for high standards across teams and external partners.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience acting as a key point of contact for internal clients and external research agencies.
