RELATIONSHIPS AND SCOPE:
The
Financial Analyst, Treasury Accounting will report to the Manager, Treasury Accounting and is a pivotal team member of the Treasury Accounting unit. This position will interact with a diverse group of internal personnel including other financial analysts, divisional leadership, and functional staff to interpret financial data and fluctuation analysis. Critical factors to success include the ability to think critically to solve issues/problems, detailed-orientated, multitasking, taking ownership and meeting deadlines, working in a team as well as independently, willingness/desire to learn and the ability to learn other Treasury processes to serve as a backup.
Key Responsibilities
- Successfully perform various tasks within the Treasury Accounting unit, including data analysis, reconciliations, journal entry preparation, US GAAP and Statutory financial statement preparation and analysis, process documentation, and special projects
- Research unapplied cash receipts including contacting third-party customers and internal business partners
- Reconcile TPA (third-party administrator) reconciliations timely and accurately and work directly with the TPA to resolve issues
- Ensure various monthly interfaces of Quantum subledger to PeopleSoft general ledger are performed timely and accurately
- Responsible for the timely and accurate setup of static data in Quantum
- Serves a key role in settling the global intercompany balances
- Responsible for varying monthly and quarterly ledger analytic processes
- Expected to cross train processes within the unit
- As a member of the Treasury team, the position is also part of the resource pool which will be relied upon to address peak needs across the group
- Respond to ad hoc requests from Financial Reporting, Internal Audit and PwC in conjunction with the quarterly or year-end audits
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business with a major in Accounting (preferred) or related field
- 1-2 years of related experience
- Ability to record journal entries accurately is a must
- Strong attention to detail as well communication & interpersonal skills
- Proven problem-solving skills
- Excellent computer skills with an ability to learn accounting software
- Microsoft Word and Excel experience required
- Strong organizational skills and proven ability to work independently
