Job Description
The Manager, People Partner will support the VP People Partner to develop and implement strategic People initiatives aligned to business priorities for Divisional Business Services (DBS). DBS includes Finance, Corporate Actuarial, R&D, Divisional Pricing and Operations for PL Re globally. This role supports DBS in the UK and APAC.
Role Responsibilities
- Provide input to VP leadership to align human resources initiatives with the business unit’s overall strategic goals and objectives.
- - Use data and HR metrics to make informed decisions and drive organizational effectiveness.
- - Collaborate with CoE’s to provide advice and guidance to leadership on organizational design, change management, and other strategic HR matters.
- - Support career development initiatives, including succession planning and leadership development within the business unit.
- - Assess future talent needs in line with business growth and strategic objectives in the insurance industry.
- - Implement strategies to improve employee engagement and job satisfaction within the business unit.
- - Analyze employee surveys and assessments & recommend data-informed options for improving workplace culture and retention.
- - Promote recognition programs that promote employee motivation and reward high performers.
- - Oversee an effective onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization.
- - Manage performance appraisal systems and processes, ensuring alignment with business unit’s goals.
- - Provide coaching and guidance to managers on handling performance-related issues, including conducting performance reviews and feedback.
- Assist in setting clear expectations and developing employee development plans to enhance performance.
- Promote continuous learning and professional development, especially regarding industry certifications, regulations, and compliance.
- - Provide input to compensation administration, ensuring alignment with industry standards, including market alignment and internal benchmarking.
- - Collaborate with CoE’s to provide guidance to employees regarding compensation and benefits policies, ensuring transparency and fairness.
- - Act as an escalation point of contact for employees to address concerns, questions, and workplace conflicts, ensuring fair and timely resolution.
- - Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal organization policies related to employee relations.
- - Identify skills gaps and work with managers to implement training programs aimed at developing the talent pool.
- - Stay updated on changes to employment legislation and ensure that the organization adjusts its policies and procedures accordingly.
- - Conduct audits and risk assessments to identify potential compliance gaps.
- Ad-hoc projects, as requested
Skills & Experience
- CIPD qualified
- Proven track record in an HR Manager role and effective leadership
- Comprehensive up-to-date knowledge of employment law
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
- Strong ability to influence a range of personalities, manage expectations and operate at all levels
- Sound judgement and decision-making skills
- Ability to drive continuous improvement across HR policies and processes
