The Role
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and global environment, collaborating with various brokers and team members from around the world. The Accident & Health team has been growing year on year and we are seeing exciting opportunities and submissions from both new/existing territories.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in assisting our broking team starting off, the work will be preparing slips, endorsements, spreadsheets and alike for the brokers to market in Lloyd’s and elsewhere. This will provide the framework to learn and understand the business within a dynamic and growing team and will provide solid foundations for the start of your insurance career.
What you’ll do
Manage a book of policy renewals, engaging with clients predominantly on a wholesale basis to gather renewal information in good time to enable terms to be obtained and firm orders placed.
Preparation of policy documentation and slips in accordance with client and market needs, in an accurate and timely manner.
Utilise market systems and resources such as the Lloyd’s Wording Repository, Crystal+ and PPL when preparing policy documentation and subsequently binding contracts of (re)insurance.
Stay up to date with territory, tax, and legislation requirements to ensure compliance.
Manage the onboarding of new clients on Howden internal systems and complete the necessary due diligence requirements, whilst following internal guidelines.
Respond to underwriter, client and third-party queries as appropriate to maintain strong relationships and ensure client satisfaction.
Support the development of client presentations for both new and existing clients.
Check Evidence of Cover and debit/credit notes for accuracy, ensuring all documentation is of the highest quality.
Maintain accurate and concise placing files, using corporate document management system.
Monthly chasing of outstanding premium payments.
Liaise with technical teams to assist the delivery and processing of insurance placements including compliance checks.
Support the management team with any new projects and broking services on an ad-hoc basis.
Who we’re looking for
2-3 years experience in insurance process and the London/International market
Experience in slip production desired
Ability to work well as part of an open and collaborative team
Organised with attention to detail
Confidence to work with others and provide a supporting role to the team.
Advanced Excel and computer literate skills in basic software (i.e Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Word etc.)
