Purpose of the Role
AEGIS London is currently recruiting for a Reinsurance Technician to join a high performing team who will be focussed on servicing of outward reinsurance programmes. This position is suited to someone with experience in the Lloyd’s Reinsurance market who can readily add value in a dynamic and progressing environment.
Duties And Accountabilities
- To analyse the inward claims against the syndicate’s outward reinsurance programmes
- To undertake the processing of the reinsurance recoveries and calculation of reinstatement premiums
- Liase with brokers, advising and collection of reinsurance claim recoveries
- Assist with maintaining the syndicate’s reinsurance records and apply to the reinsurance applications and systems
- Reinsurance credit control processing and reporting of age debt
- Processing of premiums and premium adjustments for non-proportional and facultative risk placements
- Processing quarterly premiums and claims on proportional quota share treaty accounts, including calculation of annual profit commission
- Assist with monthly and quarterly close processing
Skills, Knowledge And Experience
The successful candidate will:
- Have previously worked within Lloyd’s reinsurance market; have working knowledge of typical Lloyd’s market reinsurance arrangements, i.e. excess of loss, facultative and quota share placements, familiarity with LORS messages and their processing requirements
- Have working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word and Excel; be computer literate and have ability to develop full understanding of in-house reporting capabilities
- Be a team player whilst also able to add value independently
- Have the ability to work to tight deadlines and manage conflicting priorities
