The Role
Join Canopius as a Group Risk Analyst and help shape the future of risk management in a leading global (re)insurance firm. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated early-career professional to build deep expertise in enterprise risk management while contributing to a high-performing, collaborative team.
Reporting to the Group Head of ERM with day to day guidance from Senior Risk Analyst and Risk Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Group Risk function through the maintenance of risk frameworks, data analysis, governance processes, and training initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the maintenance and enhancement of the Group’s risk and control framework.
- Assist in identifying and documenting risks and controls across business units.
- Maintain and update risk registers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of data.
- Help facilitate Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) and support risk deep dives through data gathering and coordination.
- Contribute to the investigation of risk events and assist in tracking remediation actions.
- Analyse risk data to support trend identification and management insights.
- Administer and maintain the Group’s GRC system (Decision Focus), including user support, data quality checks, and configuration updates.
- Support governance processes including SharePoint site management, document control, and versioning for risk-related materials.
- Assist in the development and delivery of risk training and awareness sessions across the business.
- Help design and maintain reporting templates and dashboards to support consistent and efficient risk reporting.
- Participate in horizon scanning and emerging risk assessments.
- Support the development and monitoring of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) aligned to risk appetite.
Skills
- Foundational experience in a second line risk function, ideally within the Lloyd’s / London Insurance Market.
- Basic understanding of risk frameworks and regulatory expectations in the insurance sector.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to present findings clearly.
- Exposure to GRC systems (e.g., Decision Focus) and SharePoint governance is advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (e.g., PivotTables, formulas).
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude.
- Team-oriented mindset, collaboration skills and commitment to continuous learning.
